Ul Scout hammock

I must start off by stating that I have a two Exped mats and their Andromeda 4 season tent. This tent come in at 8.7 # totally packed, as you can see I was looking to drop a few pounds. The guys that I hike with are using hammock it seem these days, so of course I jump on the old bang wagon with them.

I never went out and look at different hammocks since I knew the Exped made them too, if the quality was like there tents then I had no worry about there hammocks at all.

The one I choose was their scout ul combo, which is made of Polyester-Taffeta with a No-See-Um- mosquito netting. The total weight came in at 35 oz with ropes just a little under 2 lb, with this my total weight of my pack is now 21 lb with water. A nice drop in weight might I add.

There are three sleeves that you can add stick to give the netting more volume for the hammock

As you can see the netting is ingrate into the hammock

Now on to the tarp, as you can see the trap is made out of PU-coated nylon with a 10’000 mm water column rating. The tarp is 59” wide, by 137.8” long for me this will work out, others may prefer a bigger one, only time will tell.

This is a really nice hammock I don’t think you will be disappointed
