  1. A decision you won't regret 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Oct 2016

To be sure, there are many other options out there if one is looking for a hot tent camp stove. There are some that are much lighter but those have to be assembled and disassembled. There are many are heavier but those require additional payment in sweat if you trek any distance. Most cost less than a Four Dog Ultra Light I Ti camp stove. There is not, however, a stove on the market that is better built or designed for a lifetime of use than a Four Dog Ti stove. It is simply the best. I purchased mine new with a shelf on each side and as well as a baffle. While I have yet to be out in any sub-zero temperatures, I find that on my treks I use less wood but also experience increased performance. Part of that improvement is likely related to the longer firebox which allows me to use longer logs which means, of course, that I’m sawing off and splitting logs less frequently. I think that the improved performance is primarily related to its thoughtful design. A lifetime of trial and error improvement has been incorporated into each stove. The workmanship and welds are of exceptional high quality. The practically airtight firebox, baffle and air intake design allow the stove to be more efficient and produce more heat than my prior lightweight Ti stove (by another manufacturer and which required assembly). The stove top and side shelves offer nice cooking and warming surfaces. In summary, others have described these stoves as a “work of art” that would provide a lifetime of performance. I wholeheartedly second that opinion.

  2. Easy to Manage and Maintain! A beautiful object! 5 Star Review

Extremely lightweight and convenient. The first time I lit a fire in the UL-DX, I followed Don's video. The fire lit first time and burned for about 2 hours. That was out in the open with a cold wind blowing. It generated a good deal of heat, I could see the heat waves rippling off each part. It also boiled a pint pan of water in 6 minutes.
I can't wait to get it into my tent and try it out. I also bought the silicone insert and will seal that into my side tent flap. I am using a 30 second OZ tent which I carry about on an old Land Rover 110 Defender.
I am yet to fry bacon and eggs on it as per Don's suggestion to master the stove :)
